Brad Davis didn’t do a lot of good work after Querelle, just some B-movies and made-for-television stuff. Midnight Express in 1978 was sort of his career’s peak. He was also one of the first, albeit minor, actors of note to die from AIDS, and seems now to be almost forgotten, sad to say.
I’ve been on a Fassbinder binge this summer (just re-rewatched Ali: Fear Eats The Soul) but really, really want to see World On A Wire, which was shown at MOMA in April. Hoping a DVD is released in the States soon.
Thanks for the post

Yeah Brad was at his hottest in the Fassbinder movie…shame they’re both gone. Dunno if you ever read Genet’s book but if u didn’t it’s brilliant and if you know some french his style is very beautiful indeed. I missed you yesterday in Paris, hope you Côme again sometime this year
