this is the end beautiful friend this is the end

did anyone else find this scene in toy story 3 completely intense and terrifying? for me its all about the resignation in their eyes. what other moments in disney films have evoked powerful reactions in you?

I particularly cannot forget this scene, it was so intensly sad O couldn’t help but seriously have tears in my eyes. The deep relief I felt when they were lofted up by that crane was immense and weird.

A Disney movie that evoked such a powerful reaction would most definitely be in Wall•E. That scene when Wall•E wouldn’t react to Eve. He just stood there and then went on working like the way he was programmed to do. Though this wasn’t as powerful as Toy Story 3. Forsure.

Oh I cried like a little bitch during this scene :( and the final scene as well.

I was just a kid when the first Toy Story came out, so when I finished watching Toy Story 3 it was like a chapter of my life had just been closed.

When the little mermaid chooses love over her family… I think it’s pretty intense…

The scene at the lake when Tarzan watches himself and notices that he’s a stranger and will never really belong to his Gorilla-friends/family. But his mother consoles him.

Or in Lion King when Scar tries to push Simba over the cliff and tells him that he has killed his father in the same way. But suddenly Simba has the power to draw himself up the cliff.

When Dumbo’s mum gets furious because some stupid kids make fun of her son and the circus people lock her up, I get seriously angry every time… I guess it’s the combination of a mother’s instinct and a natural disgust of blunt injustice in general & the ill-treatment of animals and that gets me there.
There’s a lot of harsh scenes in nearly every Disney movie, though.

I almost cried when I watched this – how could they toy with our emotions like that? x

I felt the same way when I first saw this. The original Alice in Wonderland did the same thing for me, at the point where Alice is lost in the Tugley Woods and the path is gone and she’s completely lost and hopeless.

yunga nunga

without a doubt the lion king when simba’s dad dies would be #1 if voted on
for me it would be who framed roger rabbit when the bad guy reveals himself as that crazy voiced and crazy eyed cartoon, gave me nighmares :-)

Vanessa

OHMAN! This part made me fucken cry! DAMN DISNEY!! I have cried in almost every Disney movie!

@Jennifer…I agree! But little did Arial know that family will be there longer than any lover! Ugh, she was sooo stupid! :) LOL!!

Sandi

i agree with Jennifer. especially when she says goodbye to her dad :’( i cry every time!!

Jones

That bit in Up near the beginning where Mr Fredricksen’s wife dies and he’s sitting at the funeral by himself with a balloon

this part brought tears to my eyes, no doubt, this movie was just amazing! <3 toy story

but i must say, when Cinderella is locked and the mice are going up the stairs with the key and when they finally get there, the cat appears… always stop breathing!!

one of the scenes that has given me some nightmares is the part when Pinocchio's friend is starts turning into a donkey and they discover what's happening… omg it's so intense and actually scary!!

I actually cried……

When Belle up her freedom for her Dad in Beauty and the Beast… That’s pretty selfless, kids. He is OLD and will die soon. She has her WHOLE life ahead of her and had dreams but she chooses to save him. That’s love.

I must admit I’ve not seen Toy Story 3 because everyone talked about how sad it was and how they cried. Maybe I need to be brave and watch it.

Also, I agree with Jennifer and Vanessa. Little Mermaid is on of my favorites, but family/friends ALWAYS come before lovers. And yunga nunga…wow. To this day I can’t watch the scene when Sima’s Dad dies. I have to fast forward (oh, yeah….VHS, baby!).

Michelle

Or what about Up, the first fifteen minutes are entirely about the old guys life, how he met his wife…. and then she gets sick and starts dying…
But haven’t seen this movie yet, either. So I suppose I can’t fully answer that question…

One scene that always scares the shit outta me no matter how many times I watch it is the one in the original Alice in Wonderland where that crazy cat comes out of the woods…that cat gave me nightmares.

Also when Simba’s dad dies in The Lion King I always get sad…though the only Disney movie I’ve ever cried during is Bambi when his mother gets shot…that stuff stays with me to this day…just the sound and the way they don’t show her dying but u know she did…sad….

Lyndon

When sully has to say goodbye to boo in monsters inc knowing full well he’ll never see her again, but all is well when mike salvages boo’s door and they meet again….
