hello boys and girls,
i dont usually do this sort of thing but last night i had a vegan apple cobbler that was so bad that it put me in a foul mood. one of the things i was most looking forward to about moving to new york was being able to sample the best apple cobblers in the world but so far ive had to really struggle to find anywhere that does a decent cobbler. if you live in the manhattan area and know anywhere that serves a nice apple cobbler can you please let me know and i will go check it out. and if i find a really great one i will totally let know guys know

Poor Kele!
If I lived in Manhattan, I’d personally prepare a yummy apple cobbler for you!
However, I don’t live in Manhattan (far from it).
So you boys and girls in NY: put that man in a happy mood again and provide him with delicious apple cobbler!

another thought: maybe the vegan version tastes different (I didn’t say weird! no offence to vegans) because there’s no butter, no eggs in the topping?

Hey Kele,
I live near Washington D.C., but some friends from high school attend college in NY. I asked them and the first to reply recommended 3 places.
The only legitimate one of the three seems to be Hillstone at 153 E 53rd St, with an apple walnut cobbler with caramel topping and vanilla ice cream, according to their online menu.
The other two are Nolita House, which doesn’t appear to be serving an apple cobbler anymore (online menu), and Crumbs, which is a cupcake shop serving an apple cobbler cupcake (which should be good, but not exactly what you’re looking for).
Hope this helps!

P.S. A chance to see you (or bloc party) live would be more amazing for me than I can put into words. It’s a shame you were sick for your last gig at the 9:30 club, but hopefully you tour in the eastern US sometime (anywhere I can drive to in a day has become my new request, including nyc lol).
P.P.S. I cannot think of a greater regret in my 19 years than not somehow getting a ticket for your 2009 gig at the 9:30 club. I swear it sold out in 2 weeks! And that setlist was the most amazing one I’ve ever seen. Tulips for Christ’s sake! But I wasn’t on the email list yet and somehow I didn’t check your website until it was too late…
P.P.P.S. Since I have a chance to say it:
1) Rhododendrons is bloc party’s most underrated song by far; over half of my friends think it’s your best
2) Better Than Heaven for a minute or so after “I’ve got enough for the both of us/ the both of us/ the both of us” (2:51-3:54) is the best musical interpretation of intense love-making I have ever heard or can even imagine.
3) Rise might be your best song of all, including all of bloc party’s tracks. Hopefully that means something to you, coming from someone who hasn’t listened to any band more regularly/intensely (or even close) than bloc party since 2008. If only I had found you sooner :/
sorry this went on so long, I just had to say it when I got the chance. Hopefully you aren’t annoyed or anything. Keep up the music Kele, the love of your fans is stronger than you think
