They’re all dickheads. It wouldn’t be Bloc Party without you mate. Best just not to worry and enjoy making music!

Hey love the amazing comments being made by you and Russell on the ridiculous rumours the NME have created. So does this mean there is no end to Bloc Party and you might be getting back together to talk about music? Lets hope so, your work is fantastic without you altogether it wouldn’t be the same!

Yeah I can imagine the new tv show
“Make Me a Bloc Party Singer”

I imagine your feelings, too. You must be very deceived.

There’s no chance to find a positive issue with them?

Seriously, guys: Peace!

Brenda

By some reason I’m confused about this whole article, there can’t be no bloc party if some of the members are missing, I’ve seen you a couple of times live and you guys are amazing.

Gavin Davis

this is what occurs when you tell NME anything, it gets blown out of proportion, good on you my son.
Lets get Bloc Party known to the world, any press is good press.

Im slightly worried and a little confused with this news….Kele pull your finger out and have a chat with em, surely they cant be Bloc Party without you.

What happened to the old bootleg days, playing the small clubs, striving to get 20 punters through the door at some grotty pub in north london? Thats what it was like im my band and i loved it, the adventure, the friendship.

Alas they tried to replace me, and subsequently i went solo and they had a string of unsuccessful side projects.

I did play Lissack at FIFA and he smashed me 5-2……

Makes it worse you see.

Well, followed the bands interviews since the beginning and its obvious its mostly jokes, but this whole thing has been going really far recently and if this is for real (contrary to @theJ_Russ’s tweets and other things said) then R.I.P Bloc Party… you guys rocked on a thousand different levels. But as I write this dramatic piece, I now here that this has been confirmed as not true on radio 1…. okay engaging fan loyalty… patience back to full power.

referred to as ‘kele, former singer in the band Bloc Party’

okay well thats a much harsher read! if nme are just putting this out there for magazine sales its just bad… its just inviting some nasty comments from people

Say it isn’t so. Kele your solo stuff is great. Bloc party are imo the greatest british band of my generation. Please get back with the guys – I don’t want to hear another voice over russels guitars or matts drums. Your tone, lyrics and emotion go perfectly. This post breaks my heart

Kele – handle your business with the band and make it clear, whatever your intention and their intention is. But I think I can safely speak for all BP fans and say that we would obviously LOVE if you guys got back together in the studio and made a new album. Even if it’s the last one. Your solo albums were OK, but nothing like the Bloc Party magic.

I love the Tee Kele (I’m an atheist so my mates would get megalols seeing me in that).

Did they misquote you or was it sarcasm? I stopped buying NME when they tried to shove the Arctic Monkeys down my throat so if I hadn’t cheekily read the news in my local newsagent when I saw the leader I wouldn’t have had a mini heart attack.

Kele Im so confused. I know some might say Bloc Party is just another band and I know this might just have been blowing right out of perspective. But Im really up set about this. Bloc Party means so much to me properly more than it was intended. Ive learned alot about my self and life from you songs Bloc Party has giving me so much so Im really upset about this ha. My heart is completely tied up with you guys so could you please let me know whats going on. P.S Kele I went to see your live show in the Academy Dublin ha I was waiting out side for ages when you and your band came out and walked by me I was to shy to say hello and to try and hug you ha so I just took a picture of your back as you walked away ha

LoLo

Seems like they want you back in the band… Back in the sense where you’ve been getting too busy with your solo project lately, if I understood correctly what I’ve read.
The way they go about it is a bit strange indeed, talking to NME and calling you out publicly like this is a bit provocative… Up to you to decide how you want to approach this, but to me it seems they’re asking you to choose between Bloc Party and your solo project. Or at least they mean your solo project should not be an obstacle for Bloc Party. Depending on the extent to which that solo thing’s been keeping you busy lately, it may be easily understandable that they’re kinda pissed.
Now, I know nothing of what your relationship with them has ever been, nor your schedule, and even less whether you’ve already talked with them or not so my analysis may be inaccurate… just my 2 cent piece of advice cause you seem lost. Cheers

alex

I got really scared!

That would be such as awkward scenario- with you judging your own replacement…. I hope everything gets sorted, but mostly just want for the lot of your to keep making fantastic music in whatever form that is.

If the thought of being a judge tyra banks style appeals to you, why not turn turn those auditions into a tv show, working title: “bloc factor” :-D

hahaha dude kele, you are awesome. i don’t know how you’re able to have such a good attitude about this whole thing. i seriously can’t believe the guys would do something that low to you. start a new band, make it better than bloc party. you can do it. you’re kele fuckin okereke

sorry kele, i’m the new singer.

and my songs will be good and cruel.

I was trying to convince myself that something had to be lost in communication/twisted for this to be true, and then I started to let it sink in that it might be true. It just didn’t seem right. Where does the media/NME get this? Glad you find yourself laughing at it.

We’re all very happy that we don’t have to mourn your exit from the Bloc. Looking forward to The Hunter! Have a great day Kele :)

No, this can’t happen!

Bloc Party are the best band to come out of the 2000′s and Kele makes them what they are.

I hope this all works out, I can imagine how you’re feeling after hearing this but I hope you guys can work it out and continue to make amazing music, and tour :D

Jessica

I understand you completely!
